Bees United has experienced a dramatic rise in membership numbers over the past few months. It now has more than 2,500 members, an increase of over 25% since the end of last season.

In May, Bees United had just broken through the 2,000 barrier with 2,012 members, but as of 30 September that number had reached 2,556, a tremendous 27% increase in membership, or more than 500 new members.

Two factors have made the difference recently, boosting Bees United’s own promotional efforts. The first is the Club’s decision to continue including Bees United membership as part of the annual season ticket application, making it easy for existing members to renew and for new members to join.

The second is the Bees’ success in the Carling Cup. Members of Bees United enjoy some priority in the purchase of tickets for games that are designated as all-ticket or ticket-preferred, in line with the Club’s Customer Charter.

“More than 450 new members’ share certificates have been issued over the past few weeks,” comments Bees United’s Membership Secretary Bruce Powell. “We’ve also had over 85 payments through PayPal on our website, which is also very encouraging.”

Bees United now has over 1,500 adult members and more than 50 life members. It also has nearly 500 senior and 500 junior/student members.

Bees United Chairman David Merritt notes that the recent increase in membership makes the Supporters’ Trust more representative of the Club’s fanbase. “It also strengthens our arm in achieving Bees United’s main aim of safeguarding the long-term future of Brentford Football Club,” he adds.
