Members' meeting on 17 August 2009
Bees United will be holding a meeting at St Paul's Church, St Paul's Road, Brentford, TW8 0PN, on Monday 17th August 2009 at 7.45pm.
The Bees United Board is proposing that we enter into a five-year £5million partnership with Matthew Benham. The Bees United Board are unanimous in support of the deal and have the authority to enter into the deal, but want the members to indicate how they would like the Board to act in relation to this proposal before we proceed.
At that meeting the only subject for discussion is the following motion.
“We support the recommendation of the BU Board regarding the proposed agreement with Matthew Benham, and authorise them to sign that agreement and any associated documents.”
The purpose of the meeting is to enable members to ask questions of the Board about the proposals and the implications of the deal for Bees United and Brentford FC.
To get the best possible representation and enfranchisement of its members, the Bees United Board has decided that a postal vote will be held to seek the views of the members on the proposals and the motion above.
We are using the Electoral Reform Society (ERS) to count the votes and ensure good governance. All members will receive a voting form and SAE addressed to the ERS. Voting forms are being posted out on Friday, 31 July.
The form must be returned by post to the ERS (we will not accept forms at the meeting) by midday, Monday 24th August 2009, a week after the meeting.
Members can send in their postal vote prior to the meeting if they have already made up their minds but the closing date for postal votes is after the meeting so members have an opportunity to find out more details and have their questions answered.
This process should ensure all our members have an opportunity to attend the meeting, and have time to consider the arguments (for and against) prior to sending in their vote.
