When Clive Bornor and Tony Hester got the call from Bees United, they were “really excited” they would be the Supporters’ Trust’s guests in the Griffin Park boardroom for the recent match with Accrington Stanley. Tony (father of the “Thorne in the Side” fanzine publishers) came up to stay in London for the weekend especially for the match.

Both supporters of the Bees for more than 60 years, Clive and Tony could remember the Brentford team that included Joe Crozier, whom they fondly remember. Tony used to watch from the Royal Oak end, although he can recall how it was possible to stand at one end of the ground for the first half and change ends at half-time.

Clive’s name was selected at random from the Bees United membership to enjoy matchday hospitality in the boardroom before and after the Accrington game, and to watch the match from the Directors’ box.

Tony is pictured to the left and Clive to the right of Bees United board member Stephen Dando.
