BEES UNITED welcome the Sustainable Development Committee''s decision on 30 May to accept the Planning Brief on Griffin Park. It is also encouraging that the local residents association are broadly supportive of what the club are trying to achieve, and are actively working with the club for something that would maximise the club''s revenue, while respecting the environment of local residents.

Speaking afterwards, BEES UNITED chairman, John McGlashan, said: "This is just another small, but sure step, in ensuring the future of Brentford Football Club. In order for us to do this we need to maximise receipts from our existing stadium, and we also need as few restrictions as humanly possible.

"I am particularly pleased that the Council have shown flexibility on the issue of the club securing an alternative stadium.

"It is clear that there is still a lot of hard bargaining ahead of us, but it is equally obvious that when both sides, Council and Football Club, are approaching from a position of goodwill, then almost any resolution is possible.
