Matthew Benham has agreed in principle to extend his financial commitments to Brentford Football Club, and within the next few weeks the parties hope to sign a legal document to that effect.
Unfortunately there is no good news to report about the project to build a new stadium for Brentford Football Club at Lionel Road. As reported in January, Barratt Homes has withdrawn from the project and terminated its agreement with the Club.
Better regulation of football clubs through a licensing system is the only way to give the majority of clubs a sustainable future that balances sporting, commercial and social objectives, Bees United has told a parliamentary inquiry.
Bees United has repaid the personal loan of £50,000 from supporter John Bowyer that was instrumental in the Supporters’ Trust taking majority control of Brentford Football Club.
Three candidates standing for vacancies on the Bees United board were affirmed as directors by the Supporters’ Association’s 10th annual general meeting (AGM) last Saturday in The Hive at Griffin Park.
